Hash House Harriers
Hashing is an international group of non-competitive running, social clubs that was founded in 1938 in Kuala Lumpur by British officers and residents who bean meeting to work off the excesses of the weekend. The name comes from the “Hash House” dining establishment they frequented. It has since gone through both recession and resurgence, and now hashing kennels can be found all over the world with participants from all walks of life. For more information on the history and hashing over all, there is a fantastic article on Wikipedia.
